Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of DoorPact's website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

DoorPact is a collaborative property management platform designed for families and co-owners who share vacation homes, cabins, lake houses, and other properties. The Service provides tools for scheduling, task management, expense tracking, communication, and property coordination.

DoorPact is a management tool — not a real estate, legal, financial advisory, or property management service. We do not provide legal or financial advice. Decisions about your property remain solely your responsibility.

2. Accounts

2.1 Registration

You must create an account to use the Service. You may register using an email and password, Google sign-in, or magic link. You must provide accurate information and keep your account credentials secure.

2.2 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@doorpact.com if you suspect unauthorized access. We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized use of your account.

2.3 Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

3.1 Pricing

DoorPact charges a subscription fee of $39 per year per property. Each property added to the platform requires its own active subscription. Pricing is subject to change with 30 days' notice.

3.2 Billing

Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring annual basis. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.

3.3 Refunds

We offer a full refund within 30 days of your initial subscription if you are not satisfied. After 30 days, subscription fees are non-refundable. Contact us at support@doorpact.com to request a refund.

3.4 Free Features

Certain features may be available without a subscription. We reserve the right to modify which features are included in free and paid tiers.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Upload content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or obscene.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or property data.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our written consent.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without authorization.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. User Content

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload, create, or share through the Service, including photos, messages, documents, expense records, and property information ("User Content").

5.2 License to Us

By uploading User Content, you grant DoorPact a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. This license ends when you delete your content or close your account.

5.3 Shared Content

Content you contribute to a property (messages, photos, tasks, expenses) is visible to other members of that property. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any content you upload.

6. Property Roles and Permissions

Properties on DoorPact have role-based access (Owner, Admin, Member, Guest). Property owners and admins can invite or remove members, manage settings, and control permissions. DoorPact does not mediate disputes between property members — coordination and decision-making are the responsibility of the property's members.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, branding, logos, and documentation, is owned by DoorPact and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or brand features.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
• Any information provided through the Service is accurate, complete, or reliable.
• The Service will meet your specific requirements.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DoorPact shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DoorPact, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third party's rights.

12. Termination

12.1 By You

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at support@doorpact.com. Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund of any prepaid subscription fees (except within the 30-day refund window).

12.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, extended inactivity, or other reasons at our discretion. We will provide reasonable notice when possible and allow you to export your data before deletion.

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may delete your account data after 30 days. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including liability limitations and indemnification) will continue in effect.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice within the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. General

• Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which DoorPact operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
• Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and DoorPact regarding the Service.
• Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
• Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
• Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights at any time.
